Worship the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
Know that the Lord is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
- Psalm 100:2-3
READING: Isaiah 51: 1-6
In Isaiah 51, we see that the Lord speaks through the voice of Isaiah.
His listeners are those who pursue righteousness, which never stands apart from seeking the LORD. The listeners are repeatedly called to listen and remember, to pay attention with the goal of seeing that God has been faithful,
to help them see who God is and to be a people who depend on this God.
How often do we think about this when we are anxious about life and our troubles? Do we remember God’s promises? Do we remember that God is ever dependable?
When we do this, it brings great comfort especially in times of great trouble.
As we read Isaiah 51:5, we see that as God goes forth in righteousness
The Bible makes it clear that God created man and that He created him for His glory. Therefore, the ultimate purpose of man, according to the Bible, is simply to glorify God.
In our fallen state, sin separates us from God and makes it impossible to glorify Him on our own. But through Jesus Christ’s sacrifice, our relationship with God is reconciled—our sin is forgiven and no longer creates a barrier between God and us.
He fulfilled all righteousness by taking on all our sins on that cross. God made Him who knew no sin to be our sin! We are the fulfilment of this promise — that the nations are being drawn to God!
What is shaking our hearts and making us tremble? As Christians we have a comfort throughout every shake-up. We have the resources to deal with brokenness. Our comfort is the hope we have in Christ!

Prayer
Father God, I come before you. I am laying my fear and anxiety at your feet. I ask that you help me get through all of the doubts and fears when I feel as if I am being crushed. Remind me that you are a powerful God. Remind me that I can trust in you. I know I can’t do this on my own. I need you. In the matchless name of Jesus I pray. Amen
