Devotion 12 October 2026

Praise the Lord, O my soul. I will praise the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live. Psalm 146: 1b
READING: Psalm 33: 1-5
Into our lives come many things to break the dull routine, the little things we had not planned on that happen unforeseen, the unexpected little joys that are scattered on our way, success we did not count on, a fulfilling day, a chance to help another in need, a catchy lilting melody that makes us want to dance or sing, a smile, a word of thanks, an expression of love that is unexpected, an unsought of word or deed of kindness, a compliment or two that all fill us with joy and gives us a sense of peace. All this done to fulfill Jesus’ plan for our lives and to express His great love through us and for us.
Time is not measured by the years we live but by the deeds that we do and the joy that we give to others. Each day gives us a chance to show love to someone. A service towards another with Christ’s love, brightens their life, eases their load, and brings them a sense of peace which is often returned to us. Thoughts from Helen Steiner Rice, “Treasures of inspiration”
Jesus promised, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14 : 27. Paul said, “Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” Colossians 3: 17

Prayer
Dear Lord help us to spread Your fragrance everywhere we go. Flood our lives with Your Spirit and life and may our lives be a radiance of Your love. Shine through us so that everyone we encounter may feel Your presence in our lives. We pray this in Your precious name. Amen
