You are my hiding place; You will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. Psalm 32: 7
READING: Luke 11: 9-10; John 14: 13-14; Matthew 21: 22
God recognises that faith produces prayer. But to be honest with ourselves there are many times when we feel faith is absent from our prayers. When we are distressed and feel helpless, when we pray for something or someone, we may feel that God is not listening to our prayers, because our faith is not enough. We have more faith than we realise. We have enough faith to actually approach Jesus and that is enough faith for God who hears us. Our faith may conceal itself, but it is there. The essence of faith is that we come to Jesus with ours or other’s needs. This is the surest indication that our faith is still alive. Jesus said, when speaking to the woman with a bleeding problem, who touched His cloak, “ Take heart daughter, your faith has healed you.” (Matthew 9 : 22) In Luke 11 : 9 Jesus says, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” The essence of faith is our coming to Jesus. We read many times in the New Testament when Jesus says to the people who He has healed, ‘Your faith has saved you,” or “your faith has healed you.” Our helplessness becomes a prayer the moment we turn to Jesus and speak openly with our Lord. He meets our needs with His miracle-working powers. Our faith does not help Jesus to answer our prayers. The answer will come to us in Jesus’ time. He cares for us and will answer appropriately. The answer to our prayers is not dependent on our emotions, thoughts, or faith before we approach Him. We have enough faith to come to Jesus with ours or other’s needs. In the story of the Father whose son suffered from severe convulsions, we hear him saying to Jesus, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” (Mark 9: 24)

Prayer
Lord Jesus, we come to You with our tiniest bit of faith, help our unbelief or lack of faith. We praise and thank You that You say to us, “Come to Me.” And as we turn to You, You say that that is enough faith. We praise and thank You, our loving Lord Jesus. Amen
