Sing to the Lord a new song, for He has done marvelous things: ---- The Lord has made His salvation known. Psalm 98: 1a + 2a
READING: Psalm 98
This is a beautiful Psalm of praise, both of humans and of nature, all of God’s creation. It looks back historically to the many times God revealed His love, forgiveness, and his saving love for His people through the ages. It describes that all of creation has witnessed His salvation. Have you not sat on the rocks at the seaside and watched and listened to the roar of the waves as they rose and then crashed down and flowed on to the beach or the rocks? Have you also had the privilege of climbing a mountain and been overwhelmed by the majesty and extent of the view? Yes, nature does make music and praises its creator! This music reaffirms God’s presence and His love for all of His creation.
Do we spend enough time with God that we also are filled with songs of praise? The Psalmist moves from individuals singing God’s praise to instruments of music and choirs singing and then extends to all His creation joining in in praise, just like a symphony of sounds and voices. To praise God with all creation, God calls us to look after His creation and all the living creatures so that all of creation can also praise God. (Exodus 1: 26). “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!” (Psalm 150 : 6)

Prayer
“May Your glorious name be praised! You alone are the Lord. You made the skies and the heavens and all the stars. You made the earth and the seas and everything in them. You give life to everything and the multitudes worship you. (Nehemiah 9 : 6). May Your glorious name be praised by all creation! Amen.
