Daily Devotion 27 October 2025

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. Ephesians 1: 3

READING: James 3: 17-18; 4: 8; Philippians 4: 7, 19

“God didn’t promise us days without pain, laughter without sorrow, or sun without rain. But He did promise us strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way.” (A Bouquet of Laughter by Barbara Johnson).

Jesus promised us wisdom, mercy, and peace which helps us to sow good news, right habits and attitudes and to share our love with others. That is “ A man reaps what he sows” Galatians 6b. When we honour our Lord and share His Good News and His Love, we will reap a good Godly crop. But it is just as easy to sow poor seeds with ungodly activity, which will also reap a crop. We cannot sow oats and expect to reap pineapples. We cannot sow disobedience to God and expect to reap His blessings. What we sow, we will reap! Sowing and reaping is a law of the natural world and applies to everyone, both Christians and non-Christians. Jesus sowed His death on the Cross and rose from the dead, so He could reap forgiveness for our sins!

Our Lord promises ,“ Blessed are all who fear the Lord, who walk in His ways. You will eat the fruit of your labour; blessings and prosperity will be yours.” Psalm 128 : 1 – 2. And “The Lord is my shepherd. I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul.” Psalm 23 : 1 – 3. There are many more promises in the Bible where Jesus promises to take care of us if we but trust in Him to be with us in all situations. He has promised us He will walk with us. He will scoop us up in His arms or simply sit alongside of us giving us His silent strength until we can no longer avoid His awesome love and know that we are not alone!
