Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from Him. -Psalm 62:5
READING: Psalm 62
There is an unshakeable faith that shines through Psalm 62
David's exuberant trust in God is based on the attributes of God’s which are found in the Psalm itself:
He is the One who saves
Titus 3:5 “He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit.”
Nothing can separate us from His love.
He is a Rock and a Fortress
Isaiah 26:4 “Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.”
God’s truth is the solid foundation of life
He is our Refuge
Proverbs 18:10 “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe.”
Nahum 1:7 “The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; he knows those who take refuge in him.”
He is strong
Isaiah 40:29–31 “He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength… they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles.”
He is loving
God is Love
1 John 4:8–10 “Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him.”
All these attributes make the Psalmist put his unwavering trust in God alone- to rest confident that God is in charge and He will deliver!

Prayer
Father God, thank you for your love. Thank you that I my rest in you, knowing
that You are my fortress and my refuge and You will save!
To you be all honour glory and praise. Amen!
